The project aims to promote equitable access to TB through early detection, linkages with high-quality free treatment, and public-private partnerships, thereby mitigating the clinical, and socio-economic impact of TB on the urban poor in selected areas of Chennai.

An X-Ray medical camp was conducted at Kannagi Nagar in collaboration with the NTEP. A total of 240 individuals were screened during the 3 camps.
A total of 24 individuals with TB symptoms were referred and got tested, out of which 11 were diagnosed with TB and initiated on treatment.
A private laboratory at Kannagi Nagar was engaged to provide X-Ray services for presumptive TB patients — both those referred by private practitioners and community-screened individuals unable to access government facilities. The cost of the X-Rays was covered by the project. During May 2026, a total of 48 X-Rays were conducted.
The ACT for TB project team conducted an awareness-cum-nutrition distribution programme at Kannagi Nagar, Semmancheri TU and VHS Thoraipakkam Nakshatra centre. A total of 85 PwTB participated and received nutrition. The REACH team facilitated an awareness session covering TB symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, adherence, side-effect management, cough hygiene, and nutrition importance.
